If I’m at the end of the foreclosure process, how long can I stay in my house?

I might have about 3 more months in my home. My wife has been diagnosed with inoperable cancer and my daughter, granddaughter and nephew are living in this house as well. I am the only person working a full-time job but not making any real money. I’m afraid that I won’t be able to afford a place big enough for everyone. The bank has not been cooperative. But to be honest I wasn’t cooperative either at the beginning of this process. Any suggestions as to what I can do at this late date? I would like to stay in the house. Yes I did try for modification but was turned down. I filed bankruptcy as a last action but the lender has been granted a lift of the automatic stay.

I am sorry to hear of your circumstances.  If u live in Indiana there has to be a sheriff sale before you have to leave. if you have filed bankruptcy already then you have bought as much time as you can, unless there is another owner of the house that has not filed bankruptcy yet.
