What is my recourse if I stand convicted of vandalism for having removed a valve core from a vehicle that myself and my wife own?

We had an argument, I removed the valve core so that she couldn’t destroy herself or the vehicle by driving off in an agitated state. What is my recourse now? The cops required me to re-inflate the tire prior to hauling me to jail. I thought there had to be some form of damage for a crime to have occurred. I hired an attorney but he merely turned me over to the court for disposition.

Based upon what you have written, if you have been convicted of a crime, you have the right to file a timely appeal. With that in mind I suggest that you consult with a criminal defense appellate lawyer in your community. One can be found on attorneypages.com.
