If I’m going through an eviction and I found out that my unit was rented out before my first court date, is this legal?

No, the same unit can not be rented to two different people at the same time and you are still a tenant until there is an order of eviction and an order allowing the landlord to re enter the premises.  Speak with a lawyer.  Good luck.
