What will happen if my license was suspended for not paying a fine?

I am 38 years old and have no points on my driving record. I was pulled over several days ago and the officer informed me that my license has been suspended for not paying a fine. He didn’t haul me off to jail, but he did give me a summons to appear in court. I have not received my court date yet, but I expect it soon. I did, however, went ahead and paid the fine. Will this lift my suspension or will it only be lifted after I have my day in court?

Although you paid the fine, your license suspension remains in effect until your court appearance when the judge can end your suspension upon a showing of proof that the fine was paid.  Although you have paid the fine, the matter won't be resolved until your court appearance.
