If I’m in student housing and one of my roommates is pregnant but I didn’t sign up to live with a newborn baby, can I get out of my lease?

I live in an apartment complex geared towards university students. Rooms are leased individually, so I have a room which is connected to a shared common area and kitchen with 3 other rooms. I recently found out that one of the roommates is many months pregnant (she has been hiding the pregnancy) and will be having the baby soon. I am a student and work very early in the morning. I would not be able to function with the noise, as well as the trash that will accumulate in the common area/kitchen due to the newborn.

Based upon what you have written you cannot get out of your student housing lease per se because you one roommate is pregnant. However, you can speak with student housing and ask for a switch after you explain the situation. Most likely student housing will place your roommate in another place to live with other young mothers.
