What to do about legel malpractice?

I hired a lawyer to represent me in a misdemeanor case. He knew I was a truck driver and told me he would give me a two week notice then turned around and told me I would not have to appear in court. Well I now have a warrant because he did not show up for court. When I talked to him he told me he was in a jury trial. So now I am in a situation to were now I am going to have to post another bond. Can. I file a suit against him for malpractice? Don’t know what to do. I don’t have the money to post another bond.

You can file a complaint against the attorney with the State Bar.

You can also separately proceed with a lawsuit for negligence.  Malpractice is negligence.  It would be advisable to speak with an attorney who handles legal malpractice cases.  Your State Bar or your local County Bar Association may have a lawyer referral service which can refer you to an attorney who handles legal malpractice.
