What to do if my CPA is holding my business records “hostage” due to the $300 he says that I owe him?

I hired a CPA to do my sales and income taxes. He supposedly filed my sales but never did my income. I have asked him for the sales tax documents but he is holding them. I am now being garnished by the IRS for taxes I probably do not owe. Do I have any legaal stance here?

You need to hire an attorney, who will need to sue him for specific performance (return of your records), sue him for the damages it has cost you with the IRS and report him to the accounting board. The bottom line is he cannot hold your files, especially when he committed professional malpractice.
