If I have worked in a retail establishment for 3 years, what are my rights regarding termination?

I have never had a disciplinary write up, missed a shift and have stayed when asked longer than my scheduled shift. I was scheduled to work my Tuesday and Wednesday this week. On Monday the store manager called me and said the stock crew was eliminated for the week. I now find out that a crew from another store was brought in to stock. Do I have any recourse?

Unfortunately, unless you had a written employment contract, you were an employee at will. An employee at will may be terminated at any time, for any reason, without any prior notice. Therefore, in the absence of an employment contract, you effectively have no rights and no recourse.
