I am a non-exempt employee. Am I entitled to OT for those 5 hours?

Under the laws of all states in this country if you are not a salaried employee with respect to the position you have with the municipality, if you work more than eight (8) hours per day or more than forty (40) hours per week you are entitled to overtime for such hours. From what you have written, you seemingly will be entitled to overtime pay.
