Basically, can we get in trouble if he does stuff he’s not supposed to while he’s living with us?

Assuming your stepson who is on probation obtains a court order allowing him to move to your locality while on probation and he ends up living with you, there is always the possibility that you and your wife could get in legal trouble if the stepson violates his probation by engaging in illegal activity at your home where you and your spouse could be implicated.
