What to do if I have a small account with a bank and have never been late with a payment but they keep charging me late fees?
I’ve had this account with the bank since last year. I made my first payment of $50 the next month. They have been charging me a $35 late fee for most of the payments made and I have bank statements showing that I have made payments every month on the account since opened. When I talked to them about this, they tell me that I had to make those late payments and that they will not go away otherwise. I make all my payments on the first of each month without fail. Where’s the late?

The best way to try and understand the charges that you are receiving with respect to the small bank that you have is to go in and have a face to face meeting with a representative of the bank to see why you are being assessed the charges you are receiving (late fees). From there you can make a decision on how to deal with the situation you are writing about.
