I have since completed college and have a job offer but my concern is the background check. Will this conviction hinder me for this job opportunity?

In all likelihood the 5 year olf misdemenaor charge that you plead no contest to as well as any other criminal convictions or arrests will appear on the background search of yourself. one way to prevent such possibly is to file a motion with the court seeking to seal your file. Most requests for such are denied however.
