What to do if I had an ATV get repossessed and now was served papers for a civil action hearing?

I was wondering if the court can garnish my wages or penalize me? I have a decent job, but I can’t afford an attorney. What would be the best way to go about this? The only things I own are 2 vehicles and they are not worth much. Can they be taken from me?

Yes, if you are sued and lose and still do not pay, then it is possible that a vehicle ncould be seized by the sheriff (or other court officer) and sold for the benefit of the creditor, or that your wages could be garnished. If the value of the ATV which was repossessed is less than the then-outstanding balance of the loan or other amount you owed, you may be sued for the difference. You may wish to contact the creditor and see if you can't voluntarily work out a payment plan which you can afford.
