What will happen if you get an out-of-state DUI?

I had a DUI about 6 years ago in WI. I am not living in TX and have gotten a 2nd DUI. What penalty am I looking at? Will TX look at past DUI in WI?

Your state of Texas will know you had a prior DUI, both by Department of Motor Vehicles records and by your criminal record. You are looking at being at a repeat offender but the extent to which your new charges will be enhanced will be determined on the push by the prosecutor, any other criminal violations you may have had in the interim and whether or not your attorney (public defender or private counsel) can successfully negotiate a plea. You are looking at a Class B misdemeanor without any history of other DUIs. A Class B misdemeanor means you would be looking at at least 72 hours of confinement and some sort of fine. If an open container was found, you are looking at six days minimum confinement.
