If I got pulled over and marijuana was found but I was not arrested or given a ticket, can I still be charged?

They told me that the drug task force officer would contact me the next day.

Yes, you can still be charged; the law does not require an on-the-spot arrest (or issuance of a ticket for a disorderly persons offense). It is perhaps unlikely that you will be charged, if they did not take action immediately, but it is not impossible.
