Depends on whether there are any witness protetion programs but generally speaking, your attorney would first request and receive a copy of the police report so that he can review with you to determine what your take is your thoughts on each accusation or statement. 
That will begin the process from there but essentially if you have been in any adverserial towards anyone, that would most likely be the accuser.
