How do I go about canceling a divorce?

I filed for a divorce 3 months ago but now my husband and I have been talking and are reconciling. Can I cancel it since I’m the one who filed?

You can have the case dismissed by filing a request for dismissal with the court.  The request for dismissal is a court form you can obtain from the court clerk.  The form may vary from state to state, but generally you would check the appropriate boxes dismissing all parties and all causes of action (claims).  You will also need to check or indicate whether your request for dismissal is with prejudice or without prejudice.  If the dismissal is with prejudice, this means the case cannot be reinstated.  If the dismissal is without prejudice, this means that although the case is dismissed, it can be reinstated in the future if you choose to do so.
