What is my responsibility as an employee ifI unknowinglyaccepted payment on a stolen credit card?

My company has taken $506 out of my check for accepting the card I am in sales and I have never received 100% profit on any sale. Am I responsible for 100% of the loss for a stolen credit card? I did not know it was stole/fraudulent and it was 16 months ago. Additionally, they are only going after the employees that still work for the company.

In theory, your employer cannot hold you accountable for this missing money.  It cannot just take the money out of your paycheck (at least not without your permission) unless the terms of your employment say that it can. For example, if there was a stated company policy or an employment/union contract that provides for this.  However, if you fight this deduction you could lose your job. The reason is that most employment relationships are what is known as "at will".  This means that basically you can work for an employer, or not, your choice.  In turn, your employer can hire or fire you for any reason whatsoever (or no reason at all).
