Unfortunately, sexual orientation is not a protected category under either federal anti-discrimination law or your state's law. (There are a number of states which do bar sexual-orientation-based discrimination, but Michigan is not one of them.) In employment, an employer *may* take action against an employee for any reason not specifically barred by law; since sexual orientation is not protected in your state, you would have no recourse for discrimination based on it.
