What to do if f I’m ordered to pay 80% of any medical expenses not covered by health insurance but my ex took our child to an eye doctor who was not covered in their healthcare network?

She did this without even consulting me. This appointment would have been fully covered had she stayed in the network. Am I still responsible for the payment?

I would first discuss the issue with your "ex" and why your child was taken to an eye doctor not in network. There may be a plausible explanation for this. If not, then see if your "ex" will pay a portion of the bill and you the balance.

The key to your answer is reading the court order about payment of medical expeses not covered by health insurance and if there is any language of attempts to get treatment in network or not.

If not, you are most likely responsible for the 80% of expenses not covered by your child's health insurance policy from what you have written.
