What are my rights if I am an employee who was planning on resigning from a company but this fact was disclosed to my co-workers beforehand?
I discussed this with my supervisor. However, when I got to work the next day their was an employee making derogatory statements about me and saying that I was getting fired. How could they know that unless the manager said something to them? Is that legal?

The fact is that there are few rights to privacy in the workplace. Unless this action violates company policy, an employment contract or union agreemen, you have no claim here. Also, if your treatment constitutes some form of actionable discrimination, then that would be a violation of law. The fact is that most work relationships are "at will", which means that a company can set the terms and conditions of the workplace much as it sees fit. This includes divulging an employee's pending resignation.
