It is legal so long as you don't need to carry a gun (assuming that, like most people with a felony, you are under gun restrictions), and are not on probation or early release and would not be violating any requirements or restrictions thereof with this job. Otherwise, convicted felons may have jobs in security. They might refuse to hire you due to your record, but if they do hire you, you could take the job.
