I am a lawyer in CT and practice in this area of the law. Your husband's creditors are able to make claims against his estate. I presume that you have opended an estate as the executor and are using whatever monies to pay the creditors. If the estate has no money, the creditors are out of luch unless your state is a community property state that allows creditors to go after you. You should go to see a lawyer to dicsucss this in more detail regarding your husband's assets at the time of his death, including those he gave a way in his will.
