Husband first name is wrong on marriage license

We got married in NM 21 years ago at
the Courthouse. At the time my husband
went by a shorter version of his middle
name Frederick. The name was on his
driver license at the time of us
getting married. Now we live in TX and
he goes by his legal name and all
documentation are fixed. How do we go
about fixing the marriage license.

You can contact the clerk of the court which holds the license and see if they will correct the spelling....however, you don't really need to.  If an issue ever arises, most courts will recognize "AKA's".  It is not unusual for people to use shortened versions of their name without affecting the legal effect of the document...and a marriage license is one such case where the shortened version of the name will not affect the validity of the marriage.
