How to find out if my Grandfather has a Will?
My Grandfather just recently died and I would like to know how to go about finding out if he had a Will.

I am so sorry for your loss. If your Grandfather had a Last Will and Testament, and if you are a beneficiary under the Will, then you will be contacted by the proposed executor when the Will is "offered for probate" or submitted to the court. You would also be contacted if you should have inherited under the intestacy statute (the law that says who gets what when there is no Will) and did not. This starts the time clock to object to the Will being offered for probate. A Will once filed is a public record - as is a proceeding to probate the estate. So it will be filed in the county in which the decedent resided at the tie of his death and you can look up the file in the court. Good luck.
