I am wanting to assist my husband, who is an illegal immigrant, in becoming a resident or get a green card. I need to know how long we have to be married before we can submit the paperwork?

There is NO time limit - you can and SHOULD do it right away, as delays may cause you and your significant other inconveniences down the road (as far as traveling abroad)
