we have have things in our home for more than 30 days with no contact from those who should be coming to get it we have tried to contact them with no response and we need to know how long we have to wait before we can get rid of it

I am a lawyer in CT and practice in this area. I suggest that you send a certified letter to the people letting them know that you will be getting rid of their property in 15 days unless the property is removed by that time. I also suggest that you contact a local marshal that can retrieve the property and place it in storage. the owners will then have to pay the storage company to retrieve it. Make sure you let the owners of the property know that it will be in storage incurring storage fees as well.
