man had been off Lithium for 2 months and went balistic and attacked his own father. Father in hospital ,son has been in jail for 5 days, family is requesting professional help for son in jail and being told the only doctor who can see the son for evaluation is not available until the day after his court date which is a few days away. How can the son get treatment he needs or at least a mental health evaluation BEFORE the court date?

Does this man have an attorney representing him?  He absolutely needs one for this criminal case.  Criminal law requires a good knowledge of the people administering it, and the system, in addition to the law.  In any case, the court trial to which you refer seems as though it is the date for a plea to be made--it is not the trial.
