How do I legitimize my 9 month old daughter?

I am the father and was never married to the mother. My daughter’s mother won’t let me see my daughter. I am not working and can’t afford an attorney. I don’t know what this costs?

I am unfamiliar with the court system in the state of Tennessee so I am going to have to give you some information on how things work in the state of New York so that you can do a little investigating your self in to helping your self establish parentage and assert your parental rights.  Now, in New York a party can go on their own to the Family Court in their county and to ask to start a proceeding to determine parentage - through a request for DNA testing.  Once it is determined that you are the Father you can request that the court allow you visitation wit your child.  BE aware that with this right will come the responsibility of support.  You state that you are not working so tha will be considered here.  Good luck to you.
