How do I know if I even have a case?

I live at home with my family – dad, sister, uncle and cousin. About 2 weeks ago, I had some of my belongings

Yes, if you have him on camera going through your belongings and taking items, and also have his admission, that would be enough to file a police report and press charges. It would also be enough to sue him  (i.e. file a lawsuit against him) in civil court (such as small claims court) for the value of what he took: theft is not "merely" a crime, but is also something you can sue over, for compensation.
