Apparently in Texas there is a differentiation between alominy and spousal maintentance. Alimony in Texas is considered to be contractual as opposed to spousal maintenance which is ordered by a court. So with aimony the ability to change the terms depends upon the terms of the contract (your agreement). But spousal maintenance may be modified pursuant to TFC §8.057. The court may modify an original or modified order or portion of a decree providing for maintenance upon a proper showing of a material and substantial change in circumstances of either party. The factors taken in to account are best discussed with an atorney in your area. Good luck.
