How to get someone to pay you back?

Approximately 2 years ago I financed a ring for a family friend for his wedding with the mutual agreement that he would pay for the ring. He has stopped paying for it and he will not communicate with me at all. If I can’t get the money can I get the ring?

Do you have a written agreement?  Or was this a verbal agreement to pay?  What were the terms of the contract?  This will depend on whether or not you will be able to repossess the ring.  But quite frankly, you may really only be able to recover a judgement against him for the money.  And since he gave the ring to his fiance he really does not posses it any longer.  So if he will not pay then I would tell you that you have to bring an action in small claims court so long as the monetary amount fits the amount of the loan that is outstanding. Small claims should have a booklet of some sort to explain the procedures.  Good luck.
