If you know in which court you have been sued, you can have someone in the other state go to that court and look in the court's computer in the plaintiff/defendant index. Look for your name under defendants. If you have been sued in that court, your name will be under defendants and the case number can be obtained. Once the person in the other state has the case number from the computer, that person can ask the court clerk to see the file. The case file cannot be removed from the court, but the court clerk can make copies of the case file for you.
