How can I find a lawyer that will do a case pro bono?

If you do not qualify for a Public Defender, then you can contact your state/county/city bar association; they may have a list of attorneys who handle cases pro bono. Also, you can  try Legal Aid. Additionally, if there is a law school nearby by to where the case is being heard, see if they have a legal clinic that may be able to help you. Finally, see if your local Department of Socal Services can be of assistance.

Just remember, that in order to be eligible for pro bono representation you must income qualify; this is based on your income and circumstances.
