I was suppose to inherit a home that was sold several years ago, Am I just ST
out of luck or can I be compensated in some other way, ie… payment from
Certificate of deposits…

The fact is that you can only inherit what the deceased owned at the time of their death. The fact is, that a person can sell or otherwise dispose of their property as they see fit. Accordingly, if you were suppoosed to have inherited a house but the the person who your were to inherit it from chose to sell it during their lifetime, then there really isn't much that you can do. Additionally, you have no right to compensation. I'm afraid that you are "out of luck" here.
