What can I expect regarding a first-offense for shoplifting?

I have never been in any kind of trouble. I was arrested and my bail was set at $500. I used a bailbondsman so I’m out on bail. How much will the fine be for shoplifting $227. They did get the merchandise back and nothing was damaged. I am unemployed and I don’t know what to do.

If the victin doesn't show, a lawyer can usually get it dismissed. Otherwise, with no criminal record you qualify for one of the program to avoid a conviction and keep this off your record. You really need an attorney.
