What to do if mmy father recently passed and his side of the family is completely freezing me out?

I do not know what rights I have in this situation and need to know how to find out if he had any assets. What happens to his things?

Hello. So sorry for the loss of your father. Typically in a situation such as this you would want to hire a private attorney licensed in your state to advocate for your interests. Some attorneys are available seven days for emergency legal needs. Many attorneys will confer initially at no charge. Then, if legal work is performed, some attorneys will provide a reduced fee for financial hardship. Some attorneys may also assist you in limited scope manner to conserve legal costs. All the best.
