What to do if I’m being charged with possession of marijuana and am currently trying to get my medical certification?
I was stopped with a small amount on me, 1g or less. I am approved for certification, I just have to get into the doctor’s for a more physical; otherwise as soon as that’s done I am going to be a legal card carrier. I have no criminal history aside from driving violations and a felony that was expunged when I was 18. I am 23 now and this is my first charge for anything like this. What’s my best route? What can I expect? Will pursuing my medical certification help my case?

Pursuit of your medical certification will absolutely help your case. But remember you should not have these in your possession before your certification so the court is going to look at that. If the doctor's physical is just a matter of form over substance, then it may be helpful but you should consult an attorney about this to see if it can be dismissed.
