If you recently received a letter from your former landlord claiming that you owe $2,200 in damages, you should respond to the letter seeking a written basis for the claimed damages, copies of photographs of the claimed damages and receipts showing the actual costs of repair.
Keep a copy of this letter for future need and reference. Until you receive the information that I have written about, you are simply not in a position to evaluate the claim against you.
