Am I responsible for a medicl bill if I was tod that I had insurance but didn’t?

Several month ago, I went to my local clinic and received services. When the clerk checked my insurance for the physical, they said I was good to go and when I went to get the blood test (different department of the clinic) they said that my insurance was inactive, but that I was still okay to receive services. I called the insurance company later that week and turns out my parents had taken me off the account several months prior to receiving the health care services and I wasn’t insured at all. I went into the clinic thinking I had insurance coverage and would not have received services had I known I wasn’t insured. Am I obligated to pay the bill?

Hello. Based on the question as you stated it, I myself would need to confer with you privately in order to learn the details of the entire situation more fully. I would discuss the matter with you at great length prior to providing concrete legal advice regarding your circumstances.  I recommend you phone several attorneys to select a private attorney to help you, because you should feel great trust with the attorney who is assisting you. It is possible that the attorney assisting you may intervene in the situation, to try to resolve matters positively on your behalf. Take care.
