If you have been convicted of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance and have abided by the terms of your sentence and now want to get a driver's license for your new job, you need to go down to the local department of motor vehicles and apply for a new driver's license.

You will only get the new license after the suspension period has run and you can demonstrate that you complied with all other court imposed terms to reinstate your driver's license in the state that you reside in.
