He lived the bullets gazed his shoulder, abdomen and shattered his femur bone leaving him to have surgery. They weren’t arguing and my husband has a clean record, he is a military man, hardworker but he does drink alot. They want to charge him with criminal recklessness class c felony.

Under Indiana law, Class C felony is punishable by a fine up to $10,000 and 2-8 years in jail/prison.  The fact that this his first offense will of help and his alcoholism may well be a mitigating factor.  Also, if  his service record is clean that would be weighed favorably by the court.  But as you can see he's in a good deal of trouble.  You need to speak with a criminal attorney immediately.

By the way how do you "accidentally" shoot someone 3 times?
