I caught a flu/cold at work as a per-diem substitute teacher and had to stay at home for more than a week and lost income. Is it appropriate to file for worker’s comp?

At least for now, the state will not compensate for flu/cold since this does not arise from an ordinary course of employment and is not considered work-related. It can happen to anyone, anywhere, at any time.
