How do I get my name off of a joint title with my soon-to-be ex?

I gave my soon-to-be ex the car but both our names are on the title and I don’t think they have insurance on it. I want my name off the title but she refuses to do it because it will cost her money. What are my options?

You don't really have any option to remove your name without her consent: you cannot simply take your name off the title of a vehicle--your share of or interest in the car (your title) must go to someone else and they have to agree to accept it. You need to make it worth her while to take your name off the title--you may have to apy her something to agree to do this. If you do get her agree, getthe agreement in writing before you give her any money.
