Unfortunately, you don't really have any rights unless you had a written employment contract which limited the reasons you could be terminated, or else set out some process or procedure for discipine or termination which was not followed. In the absence of a written contract, you were an "employee at will," and an employee at will may be terminated at any time, for any reason--including refusing to make up cash drawer shortages.
