While the mall may have declared bankruptcy, it's insurance company did not. You should hear from the insurance adjuster. You should also file a proof of claim form with the bankruptcy court; . I'm going to also suggest that you talk to a lawyer about the whole thing before you make any more statements to anybody. There may be additional parties from whom you can recover, and it's unlikely you'll get as much as you deserve by handling the case yourself. A lawyer should be willing to meet with you for the first time for free.

Regarding the proof of claim form, you can find it, and information about where to send it, as well as general information about the bankruptcy case here: http://www.kccllc.net/GeneralGrowth
