Emergency so called off spoke to Mgr. & called work Proper procedure. I was taken off schedule 1 week due to this. Can this be done?

2 checks were put through our bank acct. (Fraud) I had to call off work to handle this with the bank when it opened and also police. It is a joint acct . I called my Mgr. spoke with her whom then told me to call work @ 10am. I called at 9:15 let them know. the owner took me off for a week and put me as being on vacation which I did not ask for I just said the one day. He has done this to others when they have called off to punish them but i have not had to call off till this incident. There are many more things he has done but irrelavent now. He is also the mayor of Corona.

Unless you have an employment contract, your employer can do this.  You are an employee "at will," and the law doesn't required any reason for things like this, all the way up to firing.  There's nothing in your question to suggest anything like racial discrimination or any others of the fairly limited illegal reasons for firing someone.

It's possible that your rights under the Family & Maternity Leave Act were violated, but I'm not sure that this is worth pursuing here.  For more information, you should talk to a lawyer in your area.
