Do I need a lawyer if I am under a subpoena to appear as a witness in a murder case?
I am being called to the stand to testify with information that can possibly lead to an answer in a murder case. I preferably do not want to be involved but its too late now.

You may want to confer with an attorney. There are really two key things for you to understand:
1) lying is perjury and you can go to jail and be fined;
2) If an answer to any question might incriminate yourself, then you have a right under the 5th amendment not to answer. You would state, "I have to invoke my 5th amendment with regard to that question."
Best of luck.

Laws may vary from state to state, and sometimes change. Tiny variations in the facts, or a fact not set forth in a question, often can change a legal outcome or an attorney's conclusion.
