Do I legally have to build half of a property line fence?

I live in the country, neighbor on the back side has sheep that and his
fence is no good. He wants to build a fence along the back and wants me
to be responsible for half. I have no animals nor any desire to
build/pay for half the fence for him to keep his sheep in. Am I legally
responsible although I have no animals?

No, there is no law requiring a fence along a property line and no law requiring you to incur costs on behalf of a neighbor. If he wants a fence, let him place what type or style of fence he likes on his property--you do not have to participate or contribute. His needs and his sheep are his issue, not yours.
