If you have a breach of contract claim or claims then you need to speak with your lawyer right away and before you close (which is what I assume you meant by "take possession"). If the upgrades are lited in your contract then you are entitled to them. If you believe that the contractor cut corners then that has to be addressed. Some times you can place money in escrow (aside at closing) but it depends on the issues. Good luck.
